A Kriegsmarine High Seas Fleet Badge, Unmarked by Steinhauer & Lück, Variant I consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac surmounting a large black rosette(Flottenkriegsabzeichen). Instituted in April 1941. Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounding a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a raised sheet metal hinge, with a slightly tapered vertical pinback, and a flat stamped catch, an unmarked example but
